Meet Your Counsellor

Therapeutic Approach

Corrie Furner

Therapist

Corrie gained her Master of Counselling from the University of New England. She is a member of the Australian Counsellors Association, the Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia, the Australian Association of Psychologists, the Association for Positive Behaviour Support and an Advanced Habit Change Institute Certified Practitioner. Corrie also holds a Bachelor of Fine Art and a Bachelor of Education.

Corrie's approach is authentic, warm and compassionate. She places particular importance on building a strong and safe therapeutic relationship with her clients and adapts her interventions to provide "tailor-made" therapy to each individual. Authenticity serves as a guiding principle in both her personal and professional endeavours and forms the bedrock upon which genuine connections are forged. It is through embracing authenticity that Corrie cultivates a safe and trusting space for the client without fear of judgment.

Every interaction, every session, is an opportunity for growth and transformation. Her work is balanced between helping people connect to their inner selves and towards goal orientated outcomes. Corrie is honoured to walk alongside you on this quest for emotional wellbeing and a more satisfying and meaningful life.

Pause You Counselling acknowledges the traditional owners and custodians of the land where we work, the Ngunnawal as well as the Ngambri, Ngarigu people and others who traded on, travelled through and connected with this land, and continue to do so. We recognise all Custodians of Country throughout the lands, waters and territories. We pay respect to the Elders past, present and emerging.
